Hi Rob

It all depends on what you hope to accomplish. Camtasia will record it all
in one big long AVI file that you can later edit and spit out .SWF or other
formats.

Captivate will generally sense when the screen changes (by mouse click or
other actions) and snag screen captures. It will also automagickally add
those neat Text Captions (text bubbles) where Camtasia doesn't do this for
you automatically.

Either product will allow you to add your narration separately. (or as you
record the main movie) Don't be tempted to record audio as you go along.
Take a hint from the way the motion picture industry works. There is a
reason they never record the audio track at the same time as they are
filming the scenes. ;)
