Localized jobs (was RE: I've landed! WAS: A semi-hard landing)
Subject:Localized jobs (was RE: I've landed! WAS: A semi-hard landing) From:Chris Borokowski <athloi -at- yahoo -dot- com> To:techwr-l -at- lists -dot- techwr-l -dot- com Date:Thu, 10 May 2007 10:34:55 -0700 (PDT)
I have for the last few years deliberately sought
positions only in my local area (about a ten mile
span). I think living in a small community, even if
within a big city, and contributing to its economy and
social life is more important than driving all over
the place for a job. I buy locally, work locally, and
other than a few "entertainment" events, find a way to
enjoy the place. I drive a lot less and live a lot
more. Even more, I feel it's a more responsible way to
live.
