Come on... I have not ever said that I think of myself as an idiot or that I
want SMEs to think of me that way. What I've said all along is that I
occasionally ask an SME to explain things to me at a level so simple that
even an idiot could understand it or that I occasionally refer to myself as
a "professional clueless idiot" when explaining to an outsider what I do;
it's a simple way to give someone outside the profession some insight into
how I need to understand things and make the sort of mistakes a total newbie
might make with a product.

You keep resurrecting the approach that the writer thinks of himself/herself
as an idiot or encourages SMEs to think of them that way and that's nothing
at all like what I've been talking about. Please stop it.

This is the last time I'm going to correct you... I'm dropping out of the
conversation.
