I'm a big fan of visuals.
In an international/language barrier world,
They are a blessing.
I recently wrote an instruction manual
That had so many photos, I just made them a
Little smaller and, if they represented two steps that
Followed each other very closely, such as unscrewing the setscrew, then
detaching the gadget,
I put the two photos side-by-side in the same space that I would
normally have put one more complex photo.

That's my opinion.

Sheila

A question for anyone who has made work instructions, or who may just
have an opinion.

I'm writing some assembly work instruction. The rough draft is just over
a page, with 11 steps. Right now, I have 6 visuals in mind. Is this too
many, or is there no real rule for this sort of thing?

Wes
