Finding jobs in Toronto

First, join the local STC chapter: <http://www.stctoronto.org/>.  
Whether or not you're a big fan of STC, I've always had great  
experiences with the members, and the networking opportunities can be  
fantastic.

Second, think a bit outside the box: I got my first job in Toronto  
something like 20 years ago simply by noting that IBM had run a two- 
page newspaper ad to hire engineers. They didn't list any technical  
writing jobs, but I figured that if they were hiring this many  
engineers, they had to be producing something that needed  
documentation. I had a job 2 weeks later.
