> Has anyone seen a way to download the new MS fonts (Calibri, Candara,
> etc) for Office 2004 on a Mac?
As others noted, those fonts come with Vista. But they're not all brand
new -- Calibri won a typography award 2 or 3 years ago. They're
ClearType, which looks terrific on an LCD in a ClearType-capable system
(Windows XP and Vista). Under Windows, I think they work as TT fonts if
you don't have ClearType enabled (some people don't like how it looks on
a CRT). Don't know if they work at all on a Mac.
If you Google "calibri font download" (sans quotes), you'll find a bunch
of supposed download links that all seem to be broken or dead now. They
were probably illegal copies swiped from the Vista beta.
You can download one of the fonts -- the monospaced Consolas -- from
Microsoft:
They're XPS files (MS's PDF alternative), so you need a viewer -- and
(as you just noted in another message), apparently, a MS operating
system. :-(
