If our major interests are:

1) work from our own home office (for whatever reasons)

2) do great technical writing


Rather than beating our heads against Fortune 100-500s who don't want to be too progressive...we might have to think more outside of the box than we're used to.

Cross-use (and cross-marketing) of our tech writing skillset works (business analyst, editor, etc.)

Small companies cramped for space are often very willing to consider telecommuters

Am I willing to consider 5 employers who each only need me one day a week? 10 who each need me 1/2 day? (Yuck says I but some people thrive on such arrangements)

Every ticket has a price. Right now I really like the illusion of security that comes with a 40-hour one-employer job, even though he has this totally irrational and unreasonable 8-4:30 requirement. Ask me again next month.
