TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
You have a database-style program that displays information in columns and
rows.
You can sort by any column: Name, Date of Birth, Location, etc.
You can *also* save the sorting method, so you could save "Sort by Name" or
even multiple-columns ("Sort by name first, then date of birth").
What (short, UI-fitting) name do you call the sorting methods? The current
candidate is "saved sort," but I hate it because it sounds clumsy and
awkward, probably because it nouns a verb.
Audience: Medical people.
