Wikis are great. They're like sticky pads for whole companies, where
you can centralize information in an easy reference format. Like
microcosms of the web itself, but of fewer format variations, they make
it easy for people to record the stuff they find out in the course of
their jobs that would otherwise be lost.
The only problem is that most of them are intranets, and so I can't
link to them, but I've seen some spectacularly informative ones. My
suggestion is to have an editor of the Wiki who makes sure that
information goes in consistent places so that it's easy to find for
wiki non-experts.
