Structured authoring? That's the general term I have always
used to refer to writing with SGML or XML tools, which is the
kind of environment where content is most completely separated
from presentation.

My mind has gone blank. One of the managers has asked me what is the
term for the type of writing in which document content is created
separately from the formatting (Headings, etc) for the document. It's
not exactly single-source though single-source uses that approach.
Anyone?
