TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
Make sure that your resume has a tech writing slant. Look at the job
descriptions on Dice and write your resume to meet the requirements and send
your resume to the recruiters that represent those jobs. Only permit your
resume to go one recruiter for a particular job because you don't want to
risk your resume being submitted twice for a job by different recruiters.
Two submissions of the same resume is automatic disqualification without
notice. Take everything with a grain of salt, keep your humor, question all
promises and expectations, and stay positive.
You will also need technical writing samples and references.
