Hi Mark,

When I starting out and looking for my first tech writing job, I went to
career fairs. I went to every booth and told them "I'm into documentation."
If they knew what that meant, then they would say something like "Oh, you're
a tech writer!" That would start the conversation. Before I left the booth,
I had a name of a senior official to contact later.

That approach paid off for me. Since then, I have received most of my
assignments from networking.
