I personally like the article: its theme is something I've been aware of for a very long time.

To offset the risk of establishing the wrong "emotional atmosphere" when communicating via email, perhaps it wouldn't be a bad idea to add an optional "mood" field to the headers generated by email software. It might be easier to distinguish between constructive criticism and flat-out insult that way.

Of course, with some folks, it's fairly easy to tell which of the two they're striving for. 8^)
