Not surprising, since the BLS data supposedly comes from HR departments,
who in my experience can't tell the difference between a writer, an
editor and a word processing operator. I've had to override
HR-recommended salary ranges for every single writer hire I've done in
the past 15 years, often by using the old STC survey to support my
presentations to upper management.

Will we be able to get data like years in the field? All I ever got in
the past from these sources was years in position. Not the same thing.

Is anything being done to spot-check these reports against what's going
on around us in the real world?
