Fair warning: this awakened my inner critic.
With the obvious exception of the title, this article has nothing to do
with
technical writing.
It does have some marginally useful--if fairly common sense--suggestions
on
how to break into freelance magazine writing, if you can separate them
from
the syrupy Stuart Smalley-esque prose (You're good enough, you're smart
enough, and gosh darn it, you can write!). This is the type of advice
that
creates awkward moments where I have to gracefully decline to read the
book
that the stylist at Great Clips has written. (True story. Now I lie to
all
hairdressers about what I do for a living.)
And did you catch the slogan?
"Don't Fumble For Words Alone!" What should I fumble for in addition to
words?
