You need to update it twice if the content pasted correctly. The first
update updates the captions and the second update updates the tables of
contents with the correct captions numbers. Preview in print preview to get
the correct page numbers and then update it a couple of times. Provide an
example of "weird numbers" if the problem doesn't get fixed. Also, toggle
your number field to make sure that the numbers are "ARABIC" or set to
whatever you use. The numbers should be { SEQ Table \* ARABIC } when
toggled if they were inserted as captions.
