Hi, everyone. I am working with Word documents on a Sharepoint server.
I have kept one document checked out for about a week now. I log into
Sharepoint, select the document and choose "Edit in Word" and make my
changes. When I'm done, I save the changes to Sharepoint and keep the
document checked out.
Here's my problem:
Every time I open the document, my level 2 and 3 headings are indented 1.21
and 1.71 inches, respectively!
To try to fix this:
---I edited the styles, basing them on Normal instead of Heading 1. The
Normal style has no tabs or indents at all. I saved the doc and template and
reopened the document. No help. The headings are still indented.
---Then I realized that maybe the "Custom" feature of the Numbering window
was setting the indents. It was. I changed them to correct indents and saved
and reopened.
Now Headings 2 and 3 were correct, but Heading 1 was indented 1.21 inches.
Also, Heading 2 had reverted to being based on Heading 1.
---Fixed Heading 1 indents. Saved. Opened. Now Headings 2 and 3 are indented
as before, to 1.21 and 1.71 inches.
What is going on? What kind of crap will end users receive when this
document is distributed to them from Sharepoint? Help!
