Subject:RE: Period at the end of a link or not? From:"Lauren" <lauren -at- writeco -dot- net> To:"'SB'" <sylvia -dot- braunstein -at- gmail -dot- com>, "'TECHWR-L'" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- techwr-l -dot- com> Date:Thu, 14 Feb 2008 10:05:38 -0800
When I'm dealing with short links that can be a part of a sentence without
getting ugly, then I treat the links as words and follow links with a period
if they are the last word of the sentence. When I am dealing with long or
unruly links, then I try to offset those links as their own paragraphs or
list items that do not end with periods. I also try to keep the convention
that I choose consistent throughout the documentation.
