RE: W-2 vs 1099

You negotiated in good faith; the recruiter didn't. Accepting the change
from W2-1099 at the end of price negotiations shows them you are easy. If
they want a 1099 rate, give them one....at least twice the W2 rate with lots
of provisions, such as you will be paid in full even if the contract is
terminated early, and if insurance is required, they pay the insurance. Play
hard-ball or you will loose on this one. Or, like Dori said, consider it
abuse and leave.
