What I think this list should consider is that employers often either

employees must improvise however they can.

I question the wisdom of attempting to publically shame someone into
buying software when we do not know their situation. It reeks of self
importance and moral righteousness, and I know from experience that
none of the participants are that way. Maybe the "Sleeper effect" Beth
describes also applies to behavior on the internet, which seems to turn
normal people into angry monkeys with keyboards.
