I don't think this is correct. I have a Dell desktop and we recently loaded it up
with off-the-shelf RAM with no problem.

I also have a Dell Latitude D610 laptop (a little older, 1.8 GHz & 512 M
RAM). It is just on the edge of being frustratingly slow running Office 2007,
so if you have the option, I would go with Office 2003.
