I don't like the whole idea ... tell them how to make it absolutely
correct, not tell them ho to get "warmer". But if you have to, say
something like "Enter these numbers to get an answer that is closer to
the correct solution."

It reminds me of the old clock metaphor: a clock that doesn't run at all
is right twice every 24 hours; a clock that loses a second a day is right
only once every 200 or so years.
