Thanks, Sean! Good question. No, our deliverables were not considered
when the colors were created.

I forgot to mention that we already use colored headings in our
template, so a precedent and therefore an expectation is set. Now
management wants those colored headings to match the corporate palette.
I will think about your other ideas for using corporate colors (logo and
lines), but I would also like to find standards or other helpful guides
for determining appropriate levels of contrast. Maybe we could go with a
darker version of the selected corporate color.

Were the colors created with your deliverables in mind? If not, then
they might just not be appropriate. Post a logo, maybe a couple of
colored lines at the boundary of the text or page to satisfy the need to
use the color and such, and don't bother wasting your time further.

Cheers,

Sean

Our group was asked to apply a corporate color palette to the headings
in an .html readme template. The darkest color uses the RGB Values of R
65, G 97, B 119. This and the other available colors appear to my eyes
to have less than "conventional" amounts of contrast on white
backgrounds, but maybe that's just me. (I can read it easily, but I
wonder what the norm is.)

Where can I find out about ideal contrast levels for type? How light is
too light?

Have any of you been asked to apply corporate colors to templates? What
creative methods have you come up with to use the colors, other than
typeface?
