Contact Accounts Payable - I have found that every client wants something a
bit different. Some want detail, some just want the total. Some need a PO or
charge number, some don't. My current client wants signed time sheets, which
I've never had before (and I've been contracting for a variety of companies
for over 15 years).

I would bill for the first week of work just to get an invoice in and see
what problems arise. It will also tell you if they pay on time - better to
find that out early!

Personally, I use QuickBooks. For time tracking, I use an app called
HourzPro by Zoskware on my Palm.

Good luck!

Barb

Subject: Time invoice needed

As I think I posted a week or so ago, I started a new job last Monday.
They've got me on a "try-before-you-buy" basis, meaning for the first time
in my life I'm working as a 1099 contractor for the next 3 months.

At some point I'll need pointers to information on paying estimated taxes
and SS & UI and the rest of it, but right this instant I need something I
can use as a billing invoice for my time. I can probably throw something
together in Excel, but what sort of information needs to be included?

Help! and thanks.

Lin
