 It's not too surreal. We encountered a similar issue when developers moved to very high resolution displays while users and QA were using 640 * 480 as a standard (all in Windows). It takes some thinking and some specifying of just what screen resolutions you support and how.

I would bat this back up to the product manager. The whole thing sounds
surreal.
