I find that language evolves downward. Laziness and ignorance are bigger
factors for linguistic change than hard work and creativity. As much as
all you smarties think you are preserving and building our language,
those who study language understand that it evolves because the
"intellectually-challenged" among us are using the same language to
communicate basic needs. This kind of communication is necessarily a
slash-and-burn approach to linguistic patterns. Though we want language
to be an art form, it is merely an imperfect tool that rusts over time.
The internet will further shift the linguistic patterns of English...so
be ready.
