IMHO, video-taping engineers doing something might help if and only if you
are there as they are doing it and ask a gazillion questions about why
they're doing it that way, when they know it's correct, how someone who's
never done it might know if it's not correct, what to watch out for, etc.
etc. Look on it as a form of advanced note taking.

Of course, retrieving information from such a video might have its own set
of challenges.

Keeping in mind the corporate water temperature is a good thing. You may
want to reassure the powers that be that doing a good job of capturing and
publishing high quality information will reduce errors internally as well
as among the customer base which will only reflect positively on the
company. Pointing to a non-existent expense in the company bottom line,
though, is nigh impossible.

Might want to also sharpen up that resume pencil, Al.
