The most prolific malware spam is black market
commerce. The malware allows the sender to
take over an infected computer and make it part
of a network of computers that can be used to
send still more spam, which the sender collects
fees from businesses to send. There are enough
people who actually buy products and/or services
from unsolicited email advertisements to make it
worthwhile for some businesses to pay someone
to spam their ads to several million people at a
time.
