known-new contract and business writing

Hello Everyone,

I'm having a beast of a time explaining "known-new" to my business
writing students. I don't always use it, and when I try to explicitly
demonstrate it, the results seem contrived.

Is there a good reference/tutorial on this, particularly for business writers?
