I often have to use fictional user names and product names while
documenting or testing our product. I even have a "John Smallberries"
user who gets a look in from time to time. For anything published, I try
to keep the references pretty obscure, but they are there.

On a related note, one problem we have when trying to get screen shots
is that the programmers will set up accounts with silly names. One such
account was for a James Lecher, and that actually got into one of our
manuals. Funny thing is though, I just looked up "lecher" and found it
is a surname.
