Well, I believe we include a lot of ourselves in the way we go about
gathering content for our communication. It is those interactions where
our self shines, the interaction between us and our SMEs, reviewers, and
audience outside the context of the formal communication itself wherein
the voice of us as authors is clear, not in a distinct voice within the
communication product itself.

Tech writers are a distinct sub-species of writers in that we include
virtually nothing of our selves or our personalities in what we write.
