Hi Chris,

All in one is possible, but there is the risk of document corruption if 
the file gets too heavy.

I worked this way for several years using DOC RD codes. This also meant 
using RD codes for the contents and index - but was not problematic.

The more problematic issue is the sequential numbering. For the purposes 
of the company where I was working, page numbering was based on the 
chapter numbers: 1-1, 1-2, 1-3; 2-1, 2-2, 2-3 and so forth. This is a 
bit easier to do than sequential numbering. To help, I used Tech-Tav 
templates. I believe you can still download them here: 
http://tech-tav.com/macros.html  That macro suite, I believe will enable 
sequential numbering.

You do need to print each chapter separately and then combine into a 
single PDF - that can be a pain at times.... but other than that the 
system worked, unbroken, for years until we were moved over to a CMS.
