The one that came up on my latest gig is "Northing"

I was convinced that was made up, but it's a proper military type term for radar calibration (telling the radar which way is North).

We all know any noun can be verbed.

But it is equally true that any adjective can be nouned:

"Give me your avails." (Tell me when you are available.)

And any verb can be nouned:

"It's a good pour." (When I pour it and then taste it, I find it to be
good.)

Plurals can be singled:

"It's a nice pant." (Said of a pair of pants being held out for the
customer's evaluation.)

Sadly, I cannot go on without inducing a state of high irritation in
myself -- never a good thing at work -- and must stop. But you can
continue!
