It's not a dumb question. This debate has been raging on since the
introduction of "E-Mail."
It's really a matter of what style guide your customer subscribes to. For
example: If your customer subscribes to the Associated Press stylebook, then
its "e-mail."
If the client leaves it up to me, then its "email."
