My FORMER provider did similar. They turned off my account for "using
too much bandwidth." When I asked how much was too much, the phone guy
replied, "It's online at ...." But, you just turned off my account!
"Oh, well find another computer and go online at..." Ugh!

It turned out that the "too much bandwidth" was because we ran 5
computers on one router, and I was downloading files for my computerized
embroidery machine while someone else was downloading a game. They
wouldn't tell us how much bandwidth we could use, but just cut us off
when it was too much.

We now use Comcast.
