Let time I tried this, I failed to communicate very well. I shall give
it another go.

I gave up lists, except for grocery lists and my Weekly Status Report at
work. 

I ask those around me what THE priority is. 

At home, I ask My Better Half. At work, I ask my manager. One priority
always exists, although sometimes you have to dig around to find it.

At work, if someone comes along with another, smaller task, I accept on
the condition that my manager has no objection. Then I email him, asking
him to email me if he has any concerns about my working on something
else during my "off" moments.

I deal with other things as they arise. My wife mentioned she'd like to
have a wireless home network so she could work anywhere in the house on
her laptop. This "10-minute" task took me all Saturday evening, support
calls to both D-Link and Comcast, and I got a headache, but I got it up
and running. My wife is working at home today and is using the new
wireless network. She emailed her gratitude to me. I didn't get any of
my usual cleaning done, but whatever. I'll tackle that later.

I hope I have communicated better this morning than I did last week.
