I use the Zoom H4 and have been happy with it, but it may be overkill. As
someone pointed out, technique is important. A fancy mic won't automatically
make you sound like Harlan Hogan or something. Check out and listen to the

Also, finding a quiet conference room in the workplace is tough. Soundsoap
is an excellent way to reduce air conditioner or other background noise.
