Subject:editing text in Flash movie From:"Becky Edmondson" <beckyed -at- rcn -dot- com> To:<techwr-l -at- lists -dot- techwr-l -dot- com> Date:Wed, 11 Feb 2009 16:04:02 -0500
Hi all,
My client wants me to provide copy edits for text appearing in a Flash
movie. Their exiting process is to simply wrote verbose queries that
identify the page and then describe the change needed. Takes a huge amount
of time. I'm having to write long notes to direct them to insert a single
period somewhere, for example.
Moreover, just reading the screens is hard. I literally hold an index card
to the screen to isolate the text I'm reading. If I don't do this, my eyes
tire quickly and I miss things.
Anyone got any ideas on a better way to do this?
Can't find any tool that captures editable text from Flash. Don't want to
grab screenshots and annotate them-that would take longer than writing up
the correx.
Can you export the text portion of a Flash file to RTF or TXT? If that's
possible, I could load it into Word, their text mangler of choice, and use
track changes on it.
