Yes -- good point. We are all doing a bit of exegesis here to figure out 
what the original criticism was (or what my original sin was . . . )

I think the issue is as I presented it: my editor was indicating that 
the use of "how test results are saved" as a DO is undesirable.

I wondered if anyone on the list would also identify this as a problem, 
and elaborate.

As David has pointed out, I've already rewritten the sentence, so 
suggestions as to how to rewrite it are not really needed.

If you read the sentence, thought "Nope, looks fine to me!" that's as 
valid a response as any other.
