It's one thing to stay aware of a "guests" behavior in your "home", and
quite another to (secretly?) enable a letter, sent to another, to "phone
home" with the news that the recipient has opened it (or not...when
there's an absence of news).

But maybe that's just me.

One of the periodicals I take as digital-only sends me a notice when it
is available, then reminders every week or so until I download it or
read it.

It's their choice, and email is cheap. So is the delete key. And, it
helps me actually remember to read it.
