TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
If you are certified, or a lawyer, then you should be charging them a
whole lot more to do the contract. It's their responsibility to vet the
information. Not necessarily yours. Ask them to clarify what they need,
versus what service you provide.

They need their safety manuals rewritten/revised and they've asked me if I have the credentials that would stand up in court should they ever be challenged on the manuals. I've been doing tech writing for over 12 years but am new to contracting.
