Not really...the page number not only changes the number, but the
cross-reference to every page where a number is included. Yes, you
would expect that if things are done right, they also change...but
part of their job is to not assume that everything is done right but
to validate everything that has changed.

This is even though I'm sure they NEVER come across anything where the
writer hard coded a page number in a cross-reference.
