I'm probably too late on this, but...

I have a utility on my web site that lists recursively in a scrolling window, and you can copy/paste the results into your document. Go to:
http://www.cudspan.net

Navigate to Business > CudSpan Plugins. On the FreeWare tab under Downloads, expand the Java Tools and you'll find rLister (recursive lister). This is a Java app -- you just download it and double-click to run it. It gives you a GUI where you choose the starting point, and it lists the directories. I made it for exactly this purpose... The Windows CLI for this is much too noisy, and requires too much clean up.
