Hmmm. Sounds a lot like "I was just following orders." It is possible to
be honest, ethical, and a good business person. In fact, some say that
honesty and integrity are, in most cases, essential for long-term
success.

To Keith: That's exactly what I am saying - they post identical or
similar job ads without really intending to hire - so one of the reasons
is to make an implied announcement "We're in business, we're even
growing! See? we need more people!".



To Leonard: These corporate executives are not really evil - they simply
have an agenda that does not look attractive. Nothing personal, folks,
they are only doing their jobs. ;-)

No, that does happen fairly often. Sometimes it won't be the exact same
posting. Every now and then they will put up job postings from different
divisions that they have no intention of ever actually filling. There is
a company here in Austin that is notorious for posting bogus "openings"
in an attempt to make it look like they're expanding, when in fact they
are still cutting head count and offshoring every job they can.
