TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.

And a general question:
If the majority of members gain benefit from, and would indeed like
to participate in a broader range of topics, wouldn't that be a good
thing? (Not dog food, or chemistry, but tools and technology related
to being a tech writer...)
It's not productive to -- each time a question comes up about, for
example, VOIP packages -- find an appropriate forum for that subject.
And the writers here are people who we've come to respect and whose
opinions we've come to appreciate. Not some anonymous persons that
come up in a Google search.)
