I saw Picnik mentioned in a newsletter from SitePoint (www.sitepoint.com).

http://www.picnik.com/

I just browsed through the menus and looked at a few effects--I was
impressed.

The thing that impressed me the most was the way the menus are organized and
laid out. For example, if you open the effects menu, a side area opens up
with examples of each option, similar to programs that show you what a type
font looks like in addition to its name.

Whoever worked on developing the interface (and documentation?) did a super
job. I might be going out on a limb, as I haven't delved into the program,
but I'd say it's the type of product that would be produced if a
writer/documentation specialist had the opportunity to work closely with the
development team, per some recent list discussions.

I'll be interested in others' opinions.
