TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
Asking questions is fine, but you should be addressing them to the right
people. I don't think there's anyone on this list, myself included, who
has the necessary regulatory and safety engineering credentials to
prevent you from getting into trouble if you make unguided changes to
safety-related information.
There's a fair amount of creative leeway in the selection of icons for
use on a digital camera and its documentation, but when you're working
with systems that can maim or kill if operated incorrectly, you've
stepped onto an entirely different playing field.
