That's a pretty broad statement. Terry Pratchett, arguably
one of the most successful fiction writers on the planet,
and George RR Martin, who has been on the NY Times bestseller
list, are two of the nicest, most approachable people I know,
both in person and about their work, and there are many
other fiction writers about whom I could say the same.
(In fact, often it's the newest and least successful
writers who are the most touchy and territorial.)
