Changes in MIF output in FM 8.0

We've seen some issues re: character encoding.

Right now, we are concerned that the MIF output is different in Frame 8.0, necessitating a character encoding config change in ePub (9.2.x).

For example, the copyright symbol is output differently:

>From Frame 7 MIF
      <String `\xa9  1999-2005 '>

>From Frame 7 MIF
   <String `© 1999-2005 '>

What we'd REALLY like is to use pure ASCII because we foresee other problems down the road....

Has anyone wrestled with this?
