I'm less surprised than you are. It might be tricky to convince a layman
(judge or jury) that the manufacturer was *fraudulently* using the
decimal interpretation out of context.

This is as opposed to including "hidden inches" in monitor size, which
easily fell on the narrow side of Hanlon's Razor.
